Godwin Rolls to Win in Montgomery Summer Championship!!!

Brandon Godwin  shared the first round lead with Kyle Sapp with a 65. His second round 66 opened up a two shot lead going into the final round. After a final round 65 seventeen under 196 total he would finish with a six shot win over former Troy golfer Jake Tucker who had a final round 66 finished 11 under par at 202. It was his best finish of the year. Godwin who is a former Faulkner University golfer and a local Montgomery native played didn’t make a bogey the final day and was in control all day. He started the final round with a two shot lead over Jacob Harper, Kyle Sapp and local favorite Hunter Hamrick. After a three under 33 on the front his lead grew 4 shots and he stayed hot on the back nine with a 32 for the six shot victory and claim the $7500 first prize. It was Godwin’s second win on the tour as he had his first victory three years ago in a one day event up  at Emerald Mountain.

There was  a six way tie for third at nine under par 204 that included last years Champion Glenn Northcutt, Hunter Hamrick, Wilson McDonald, Taylor Davis, Forest Knight and Jacob Harper. Harper had a hole in one on number 7 in the final round.
The Pro Am was won by Forest Knight, Robby Brantley, John Shremser and Colin Holder. We were also very honored to have Coach Tommy Tuberville play in the Pro Am with us this year.
